With autumn settling in and the arrival of the cooler temperatures (finally!) my crochet project bag has come out of its summer hibernation. I started working on this Corner to Corner (C2C) blanket last year. I had made one C2C blanket previously, but it was a gift for my MIL, so I thought I'd play at making another one.
It's a very simple repeating pattern, crocheted as the name suggests - from corner to corner.
I'm using all sorts of odd bits of yarn. As with creating a string block in quilting, I'm using the smaller lengths of yarn for the short corners reserving the balls of yarn that are bigger for the central strips of colour.
Speaking of colour, there is no rhyme or reason to how I'm going about this. It seems that I have a lot of yarn in the green and pink families. I do love that green and pink combination, not only in crochet, but in sewing too. Just looking at my previous quilt, it's a pink extravaganza with a touch of green.
Yesterday afternoon, I went in for an iron infusion. My iron levels have been low for years and my last blood test did show I am now anaemic. I was in a room (of mainly women), all sitting on those big comfy chairs with the legs that go up.
My nurse was telling me a story (probably to distract me from the cannula going into my hand) about a lady who'd been in last week who had two sets of twins (4 kids under 4). She thought she'd try for one more child. Luckily for her, she's not having more twins... instead it's triplets!
I've been pre-warned that I'll probably feel unwell within 48 hours of having the infusion, so I'll just have to have my crochet nearby to keep me entertained.
Crocheting sounds like a good project to work on while recovering, especially if you are feeling chilly.
