It's Scrappy Happy Day and today's block in the quilt along is the Crossroads Block.
What a fun, bright, happy block!
This quilt block is mostly made up of 2.5" squares, so it's really a great way to use up those scraps. I have a whole tub of 2.5" squares for which I have no plan right now. They could easily be used to make something like this.
The Scrappiness is Happiness book is by Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet and includes 32 Scrappy Quilts to make. It's available from the Fat Quarter Shop along with a huge variety of Lori Holt designed fabrics you can use to make this or any of her quilts.
Here are a few links to the various bits and pieces:

Nice bright quilt!! I had/have some of that line of fabric - I think some of it was used up in my RSC quilts last year
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun bright block.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful block, love how you did not use solid white, but a dotted fabric. Adds so much more to the block.
ReplyDeleteI reallllly like this block.
ReplyDeleteI have so many scraps.
You are very inspiring Anorina.
I must finish some quilts first. I have so many to bind and just finish etc
It is a process that forces me to focus hahahhahaa
Happy New Year to you and your family
I'm pretty sure I made that exact block for a scrappy quilt... many years ago. It's long gone - given away. But I agree that it's perfect for 2-1/2" squares. Though that's not always the size I cut my scraps. Having made one Snap Scrap quilt, I have lots of pieces cut for another one. You've just reminded me of them, and that I should pull them out again to use up more scraps. As always your blog posts are inspirational!
ReplyDeleteA lovely bright block...scrappy is so nice xx
ReplyDeleteThis one will be stunning with all those bright colours. Well done Anorina...xox
