Welcome to my stop on the Foodie Blog Hop, hosted by Creatin’ in the Sticks.
Our brief for this hop was something related to food. I had a think about it and was planning on making an oven mitt / hot pad set.
As the weather is quite cool here now with winter only a matter of weeks away, we’ve turned to eating soup, regularly. I’d made a couple of bowl cozies last year, which isn’t enough for our family, so I changed my mind about the project and made more bowl cozies. They’re definitely food related.
These cozies are very quick and easy to make but so very handy. I don’t know why I didn’t have enough for us to have one each, but it’s rectified now. Bowl cozies for everyone.

Now, for an important question... what is your favourite bowl food?
Do you have a favourite winter soup? Or how about a favourite ice-cream dessert (for those in the Northern Hemisphere)?
They look great I need some myself
ReplyDeleteVery cute and useful. Can't believe I have only ever made two of them!! We love Chicken Wild rice soup on cold days.
ReplyDeleteThey are handy and so pretty too.
ReplyDeleteI have never made one I don't know why as I keep saying I need a stack of them! I like Italian Meatball Soup with orzo
ReplyDeleteI have never made one! I was gifted 2 and that has been what we use. There are 4 of us but so far, the little girls do not care for soup. When they finally do, I definitely will have to make some more.
ReplyDeleteMy kids use them for bowls of pasta or even ice-cream ;-)

ReplyDeleteWe love bowl cozies a lot. I like to use them with chili besides soups.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bowl cozies! I need to make a few more for us too. I like them for hot foods and cold! I have to say my favorite bowl food is ice cream, summer or winter. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteBowl cozies are such a useful thing, and yours are beautiful too!
ReplyDeletethese are wonderful. thanks for sharing. a few years ago I made some for my husband and I. well to say they are addictive is an understatement. LOL I wound up make them as christmas presents for that year.
ReplyDeleteI love bowl cozies and have made one for everyone in the family. I put them in people's stockings one year. My favorite soup is lobster bisque, or a more everyday one is potato.
ReplyDeleteBowl cozies are probably my most favorite thing to make and use. I find more ways to put them to use every day. They are great thread catchers too!
ReplyDeleteBowl cozies are great, especially in fun fabrics like those!
ReplyDeleteLooking at yours reminded me of beautiful flowers, and the flower centre is a delicious bowl of whatever makes you happy. I love these . My favourite bowl food is homemade chicken soup, and I make it regularly. Thanks
ReplyDeleteYour bowl cozies look great! How nice to finally have enough for the whole family, eh!
ReplyDeletePretty and practical. The best part is you can throw them in the wash and they come out looking just as good.
ReplyDeleteBowl cozies are the best idea. Great that you have enough for you all now!
ReplyDeleteYour bowl cozies are perfect for the Foodie hop. Your fabric choices are spot on. They are so great for a hot bowl of soup or pasta but I had never thought about how perfect they are for a cold bowl of ice cream. Holding on to a cold bowl can be as bad as a hot one. Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteI've made many bowl cozies but always for someone else not for me. I currently have 2 that are very used and abused that a friend made me knowing that I hadn't gotten around to myself. I think it is about time I replaced these 2 with fresh and bright like yours. I like split pea with ham soup in my bowl.`

DeleteI love the fabric you've used to make the bowl cozies! I have a bunch cut out and sitting on my shelf to make.. keep forgetting! My favorite soup is tomato :) xx
ReplyDeleteMoi j'aime la chorba, j'en fait pas assez souvent et pourtant c'est un plat complet et délicieusement délicieux
ReplyDeleteJe vais préparer des petits cadeaux pour les temps froids, merci pour ces belles idées
Bowl cozies are the best! I use mine daily and so does my husband. My favorite bowl food is definitely ice cream, but my most often eaten bowl food is cream of chicken soup.

I love bowl cozies! All of mine were gifts. Perhaps someday I will make my own bowl cozies.
