Starry Charms Quilt

The Starry Charms Quilt is the newest (free) short cut quilt pattern from the Fat Quarter Shop. It's a fun design and comes together quickly and easily which makes it perfect for a quilter of any skill level.

The pattern uses 5" charm squares to create the quilt which is a great option. We all have charm packs in our stashes that we buy and then don't seem to use - or is that just me?

I decided to buy yardage for my version of the Starry Charms Quilt and used the glass gem that we grew over the summer as my inspiration. Oh my gosh it was fun to sit on the Fat Quarter shop page and go through the moda bella solids choosing 'just the right' shades to make my quilt.

The FQS pattern has excellent cutting instructions for ruler and rotary cutter... but I decided that as I was using yardage, I'd speed up the process by using my Crafters Edge Crossover II machine along with the Half Square Triangle (HST) die set to cut out my HST's. Fast!!!

Before long I had a whole bunch of HST's cut up and ready to sew together.
