I love a good finish - especially if it's been a long time coming. I started working on this 'Red Velvet' crochet blanket a few years ago with a bunch of Caron Cakes that I'd bought at Spotlight.
At the time, my son's favourite colour was red, so I decided that I'd be making it for him to snuggle up with. Well, since then, his favourite colour is no longer red, but luckily it's still in his top 3 favourites! Kids!
After working the blanket as big as I wanted, I then added a row of SC and finished with a scalloped border. I really love that wavy edge to finish off a blanket.
The Caron Cake yarn is heavier (wool/acrylic mix) than the usual 8ply acrylic yarn that I use, which means this is a lovely warm blanket.
Even though I enjoyed working on it, it's nice to get the little shelf under my coffee table back... well until I start another project ;-)
Anorina, your blanket turned out great! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely and cosy and just the right size for a teenage boy.
ReplyDeleteHow do I know that your "finished" feeling is so nice? Because I'm nearing a finish on a crocheted afghan of my own: Moorland that was a CAL with @auiltsfromtheattic I've just looked back to my blog to see when I began and it was February 2017. Past time to be done! I'm glad your son still likes the colors you used. That scalloped edge finish is nice.
ReplyDeleteFabulous...

And the color is ageless. This blanket will be around for a very long time. Love it.
