Holly Berry Quilted Potholder

What do you get when you put a border around the 6" Holly Berry block (pattern by Nadra Ridgeway which I blogged about here) and then combine it with the gorgeous potholder pattern by Amy of nanacompany?

Well you get a Holly Berry Potholder, perfect for all manner of holiday baking.

I like that I've incorporated this smaller block into something I can see and use over the coming weeks. The little loop of ribbon is the perfect size to hang over the knobs of my kitchen cupboard doors.

I used my Clover hera marker to measure my quilt lines 1" apart and I quilted through the layers with a 3.0 stitch length. This seemed to work quilt well, especially on the backing piece which included 2 layers of fabric and 3 layers of batting.

Sewing for Christmas has made me wonder whether I should start thinking about getting the decorations out from where they're stored (in the cupboard under the stairs).
