Smitten Quilt {Progress} |
I joined Cheryl and the girls for FNSI by working on block for my Smitten Quilt. I will reiterate here that I am THE SLOWEST PAPER PIECER IN THE WORLD! In choosing the fabrics, the glueing and then the hand sewing of the pieces.
I chose the fabrics and glued to the papers during the afternoon and then sat and stitched in the evening. Hubby was home (finally) so we watched a bunch of shows I'd recorded during the week. I do try to 'not' watch things when he's not here so that we can see them together, unless it's Game of Thrones or Gogglebox. Then all bets are off.
I worked on making more of smaller hexie "filler" blocks. I always seem drawn to the same colour combinations and I notice that there is no purple in my quilt. I really need to add a little bit of purple in there somewhere as it's one of my most favourite colours.
Hi Anorina,I am loving your smitten blocks ,you are doing beautiful work my friend 😘
ReplyDeleteThanks Shez. They're a fun to stitch in the evenings, although I'm realizing that my eyes aren't as good as they used to be.
DeleteYour smitten blocks are great. Lovely fabric choices.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm trying to be super scrappy rather than my usual "matchy-matchy" :)
DeletePretty blocks.
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen :)
DeleteSuper work! I love those ducklings that you have fussy-cut.
ReplyDeleteThank you! They're sweet, aren't they? I have a print with little lambs that I'm going to try and incorporate in there somewhere too.
DeleteIt looks beautiful! Slow sewing is so rewarding and you’ve chosen beautiful fabrics!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lucy. It really is lovely to sit and sew without a deadline.
DeleteWow....I love what you are doing and I agree with the others, wonderful work...
ReplyDeleteThanks Barb. It's been a lot of fun :)
DeleteLoving your Smitten Blocks mad out of the great fabrics...
ReplyDeleteThanks Maria. Some of these fabrics are my favourites and I've been saving the littlest pieces for "just the right" project :)
DeleteFirst time visitor here! I love your style, fabric choices and colors! All are so cheerful and fun! Thanks for inviting me to join! I think I'll be at home here!
ReplyDeleteHi Brenda, thanks for stopping by. I do love bright and happy fabrics. I think its much for fun to work on these sorts of projects, when the fabrics make you smile, don't you think? A x
DeleteGreat work on your EPP. xx
ReplyDeleteThank you xx
DeleteHi Anorina... oh I do love your work so far with Smitten.
ReplyDeleteHad to laugh at your Gogglebox reference; my DD loves that show too!
Thank you Anthea. Oh I do love Gogglebox. Hubby was lucky to be home last night as I wasn't waiting for him, to watch it. It's quite a funny show and I have picked up on some new shows to watch, which wouldn't have come across my radar, if not for Gogglebox.
DeleteLove your EPP fabric gorgeous
ReplyDeleteThanks! They're certainly very bright, aren't they?
DeleteI do love happy fabrics :-)
Your blocks are gorgeous, Anorina.
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine. I've put a few more of the small blocks together this week, so I hope to attach them to the big quilt soon.
DeleteLoving your 'smitten' blocks, very pretty!
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda.
DeleteThey’ve been lots of fun to make, but I must admit that I’m really, really slow at the hand sewing caper.
Happy Stitching!
Beautiful blocks Anoria, love the colours you have chosen, I too am a purple person, it will look great with the yellow. Hand stitching is perfect for slow stitching, no rush just sew happily!!
