It's no secret that I love an Instagram sew along. There is always so much fun stuff going on over there. Other than being a wonderfully pretty time-sucker, it's also the perfect place to go and be inspired with unlimited images of beautiful makes by super creative people.

With Christmas on the way, a lot of Christmassy images are beginning to appear as people get their festive sewing started. I follow @SunnyDaySupply on IG and decided to create one of her Christmas stockings to join the #SunnyStockingSAL - get her free pattern and read about the sew along here.

I used some Pixie Noel fabric which I had in my stash. Pixie Noel is by Tasha Noel for Riley Blake Designs and I only have a small amount of this fabric left. It's one of my festive favourites. I just love Christmas fabrics, don't you? The hardest part is choosing just one!

I drew the applique baubles free hand onto the back of my heat'n'bond paper. If you look at my previous post, I seem to have applique ornaments on the brain lately.

It's looking like a very wet weekend, so I'm hoping to get started on another Christmas stocking. I might raid my Flower Sugar stash for this next one.

    1. Thanks Shez. I just realised that I hadn't added a little hanging loop on the top. Might have to make another one to get it right ;-)

  2. Very nicely done, as always! You've reminded me I've saved a pattern somewhere for stockings made from denim jeans...must go look for it, I've got a bag of old jeans that need used up.

    1. What a great idea! I have old jeans that I'd been saving to make a quilt, but I like your thinking.
