I'm am so, so, so excited for my friend Sedef and her beautiful debut range. The palette is sugary sweet and the prints are super cute. I really can't resist fruity designs on fabric.
Oh and the stripe prints! White combined with a soft grey, pink or red. I would suggest buying a whole bolt of these bias stripe prints for future quilt bindings - they're just perfection.
I received my bundle of pretty fabrics and was immediately drawn to the cheater prints. If you want to make a quick project, these cheater prints are just the thing. They look like perfectly pieced patchwork, don't you think?
I used all three cheater prints in this giant book pillow. It's one great big pillow and a comfy addition to my little bookworm's space. The pockets are large enough for a number of books. These pockets are also large enough to hold her iPad, headphones, a few dolls and even a few Beanie Boo's (unicorns of course).
The pattern for this giant pillow is from a book called For Keeps: Meaningful Patchwork for Everyday Living by Amy Gibson.

This is my Sweet Orchard quilt. It measures 50" square which I think is a good size for snuggling on the couch during these cold winter evenings. I used a traditional tulip quilt block with white sashing and white borders. I think that all that white makes the sweet colours pop.
The centres of the tulips are all the same red with white text print.
Amelia loves helping hold up quilts for photos. She helps decide how we should lay it out and whether we need some props in the picture and where they'll go. I take the pictures in her bedroom. Her room is north-facing and has the best light in the house. Now if only I can work out which are the best settings for crisp, clear, light pictures!
My Sweet Orchard quilt is quilted in a meandering free motion design. I machine bound it in the light grey and white bias stripe print. I normally hand stitch down the binding and absolutely love the process, but gosh machine binding is super fast!
Fellow Aussie, Jemima over at Tied With a Ribbon is also sharing her Sweet Orchard project today, so stop on over and have a look at what she's created.

Sedef also has written a new book which due out later this year. Pre-order your copy from Amazon, by clicking the photo (affiliate link). It looks super cute and I am in love with that little girl pillow on the cover.
I love what you made with this beautiful fabric - the tulip quilt and the wonderful pillow! Isn't it great to have such a little 'helper' - she's so sweet :)!
