All Points Patchwork by Diane Gilleland is one of the most comprehensive books on English Paper Piecing which I’ve come across. I am a lover of EPP. It is such fun to create shapes (from shapes) and is a perfectly portable technique. With kids, having something to keep busy, while waiting for them, is always handy.
In the past, my experience with EPP had been limited to pre-packaged hexagon, diamond and jewel shapes. They’re easy to work with and are really quite easy to source. All Points Patchwork has now opened my eyes to unlimited creative possibilites.
All Points Patchwork is a little different to most craft/sewing/quilting books. Rather than a book full of projects to re-create, All Points Patchwork is an “Idea Book”.
Diane teaches the necessary skills behind each general EPP shape with excellent step by step photographs and instructions. She shows the sewist a project idea of what she has made with that shape. It’s then up to the sewist how they will use the shape in their projects.
Working along-side this excellent resource, Diane has set up a web page with EPP how-to videos. There is even a YouTube clip on how to create your own EPP shapes using Google Drive. Admittedly, the moment I saw this, I went straight over to my computer to have a play around at creating my own shapes. So much fun!
All Points Patchwork is a perfect resource for your craft book library. It’s comprehensive and packed full of information which will have you returning to these pages… again and again.
All Points Patchwork is available in Australia from Can Do Books and BookTopia. All Points Patchwork is available internationally through Amazon.

DeleteWow this book looks amazing ,Thankyou for sharing xx
ReplyDeleteYes it really is a fun book. Almost like an EPP dictionary (if that makes sense).
DeleteI so agree I have a few EPP books but this one is better than all the others put together highly recommend it to one and all
ReplyDeleteI love this book as well. There is so much more inspiration to be had from learning techniques this way rather than a book of patterns. I'm so glad I got it.
