Layers of Charm is the newest FREE quilt pattern from the Fat Quarter Shop. As you may already know, the FQS already have a wonderful short-cut series of free patterns available, perfectly suited to pre-cuts - Layers of Charm is a lovely new addition.
The Layers of Charm quilt comes together quickly, using a Layer Cake and a Charm Pack. It’s a fantastic quilt design, perfect for a new sewist to take that first step into quilt making.
Watch Kimberley from the Fat Quarter Shop show us how to make the blocks here on the Fat Quarter Shop YouTube channel:
I used the Layers of Charm pattern, a beautiful layer cake of Flower Patch by Lori Holt and a couple of charm packs in navy blue and white (I wanted to go with an alternating pattern), to create this table runner. It’s a long one (5 blocks), but it came together very quickly and by the end of the weekend, my dining table had lovely a new runner.
If you have a layer cake in your stash at home and are looking for a fun quick quilt pattern, Layers of Charm is it.
The Fat Quarter Shop have generously offered to give away a layer cake
and charm pack to a very lucky Samelia’s Mum reader.
