Butterfly Snack Mat {Tutorial}

It’s “National Sewing Month” but seeing as I’m in Australia, I like to think of it as “International Sewing Month”. I was invited to create a project for one of my favourite online websites, All Free Sewing. My tutorial is featured today on the All Free Sewing blog which is called Seams and Scissors. If you haven’t visited before, you really must make yourself a large cup of tea and settle in for a little while.

As you know, I love appliqué and I love using scrap fabrics, so the project which I decided to create was this cute Butterfly Snack Mat (which incorporates both).

Strawberry Snack Mat : Tutorial by Anorina @ Samelia's Mum

It’s a good way to use some of your favourite scrap fabrics, as well as the opportunity to practise your free motion machine applique. I even UPLOADED a video on to YouTube so you can see how I go about appliqueing a butterfly. The filmographer was my 7 year old daughter – I think she did pretty well and didn’t shake or wiggle too much.

Best of all, if you visit the page and see my tutorial, you can enter the daily giveaway. Each day has a different giveaway. Go on, have a go at making my Butterfly Snack Mat and send me your pictures or tag me on Instagram with #SameliasMum. I’d love to see them.

Happy Stitching x
