I can finally share some pictures of my B is for Bloom quilt. This was such a fun quilt to make. The fabrics (Scrumptious and Marmalade by Bonnie & Camille) are just delightful – and playing with the wedge rulers to make these Dresden plates, ALWAYS makes me happy.
B is for Bloom was designed as a picnic quilt. It’s a large square layout and large enough for my family to sit comfortably with our picnic set out in the middle. The backing fabric is quite busy, which is perfect to hide any grass or dirt stains.
Each petal is 9” long which makes each large dresden flower over 20” in diameter. If you have an F8 bundle on your fabric stash shelf, this would be a perfect project in which to use it.
I find that I buy F8 bundles more regularly than FQ bundles. Do you do this too?
If you’d like to make a B is for Bloom quilt, the pattern is available in the current issue of Love Sewing Australia (issue 3).

Beautiful! Great idea to use a busy fabric for the backing. Love your choice of quilting too.
ReplyDeleteHi Anorina! I LOVE your B is for Bloom Quilt and would like to make it! But - I live in California, USA, and do not have access to the Love Sewing Australia magazine! Is there any other way to purchase the pattern?

ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful quilt - love the fresh colours and fabrics! And yes, I am a bit of a F8 convert too as you still get the nice variety of prints and postage is usually cheaper from the US:(
