**Giveaway is now closed **
Winner is Mademoiselle Slimalicious
We’re half way through winter in Aussie-land. I don’t mind winter. I really quite enjoy it – well except for the associated colds and flu that come with the season.
One great part of winter is dinner-time. Warm casserole’s and oven baked dishes. Food which is too heavy for the hotter months, but perfect on these cold ones. I shared our Shepherd’s Pie recipe last week, which is a winter warming favourite in our home.
What better way to cook-up some winter yumminess, than in Pyrex glassware? Yes, I’m going to tell you about the fabulousness of Pyrex now. I truly love using this glassware and have done so, for years.
With it’s clean design, endless versatility and excellent quality, Pyrex is a household name.
• Ideal for use in oven, microwave, fridge and freezer
• Bake, serve and store in the same dish
• Does not stain or retain food odours
• Easy to clean and dishwasher safe
• Long-lasting durability
I bought my first Pyrex 14 piece Bake and Store Set, about 5 years ago.
Personally, I love that I can bake something and then store the leftover in the same dish by just popping the lid on (and storing in the fridge). No need for cling wrap. And since my fridge isn’t huge, with the strong plastic lids, I can stack things on top.
With thanks to World Kitchen, I have a Pyrex 14 piece Bake and Store Set valued at $69.99 to giveaway to a lucky Samelia’s Mum reader.
To enter, just leave a comment telling me in 50 words or less:
If you won the PYREX 14 piece Bake and Store Set, what delicious meals would you bake, this winter?

ReplyDeleteI would bake lots of cakes and stuff.
ReplyDeleteOooh, what I wouldn't make with these ;-) First thoughts I would use the larger ones for lasagne and apple crumble, a perfect winter meal ;-) thanks for the opportunity to win ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm beginning to feel discriminated against.
ReplyDeleteLots and lots of lasagna and casseroles!
ReplyDeleteAck...please don't count me...didn't realize it was only for Aussies.
ReplyDeleteOh no! Why's that?
ReplyDeleteI love pyrex,i would be certainly making Anorina's shepard's pie and heaps of chicken curries.xx
ReplyDeleteI have an international giveaway running right now - for some Kate Spain charm packs. Here is the link: http://www.sameliasmum.com/2012/07/charming-july-kate-spain-edition.html
ReplyDeleteMmmm.... apple crumble. Yumm!!
ReplyDeleteI would make Lasagne, Caseroles, Chicken Parm and you can make loads of desserts! I would love to win!
ReplyDeleteI would make apple crumble, and maybe canneloni
ReplyDeleteGiven my current state of "pregnancy-induced-unable-to-handle-raw-food-ness" - it's hard to say what I would cook! However, lasgane works perfectly in Pyrex. And perhaps chow mein or tuna mornay :)
ReplyDeleteMy husband is the cook in the family so I would get him to make his famous chicken and leek pie! Yum!
ReplyDeleteI would make my famous cannelloni. Love these pyrex bake and store they are fantastic
ReplyDeleteI'd definitely bake winter comfort foods that the whole family can enjoy, such as pasta bakes, lasagne, and moussaka!
ReplyDeleteI'd definitely bake winter comfort foods that the whole family can enjoy, such as pasta bakes, lasagne, and moussaka!
ReplyDeleteI would bake cheesy chicken broccoli crepes! Yum!
ReplyDeletewe love our Spanish Tucker so a nice wholesome Paella or roast Roast Chicken and Vegetable Empanadas all served with spicy baked potato and broccoli side serve
ReplyDeleteOh, this would be perfect for all the new healthy recipes that I have been wanting to try! I am starting a new healthy eating plan & want to cook in advance to stop the takeaway cravings when I don't feel like cooking. These would be PERFECT for filling the freezer!
ReplyDeleteI'd be baking something to please everyone: a Vegetarian Lasagne, a Chicken & Vegetable Pie, a Red Wine Beef Casserole and for desserts an Apple & Rhubarb Crumble and a Pineapple Upside Down Cake.
ReplyDeleteOh the dish I made tonight would be perfect for this, it was a belly warming tuna and vegie pie with a crusty potato mash topping. I could grill it in the pyrex and without transferring it, store any leftovers in the fridge. Perfect!
ReplyDeleteLove this Pyrex set :-) I would try out an Apple crumble and a lasagne yum!!
ReplyDeleteHearty beef and vegie pies, chicken and pasta boscolia , ricotta and vegetable lasagna! Fried rice, and lots of different soups to freeze when I won't feel well enough to cook because my hub can really only cook spaghetti Bol - I'd be sick of that after 2 nights
ReplyDeleteI love pyrex too and am slowly converting bake ware to pyrex. I love the ease of lasagnes and pasta bakes that can be made in the dish, frozen then reheated all in one dish!!! please pick me :)
ReplyDeleteLasagne, Apple rhubarb and pear crumble, Chocolate self saucing pudding (or perhaps butterscotch). I could go on and on. I love pyrex, no need for covering left overs with anything disposable.
ReplyDeleteJust discovered a recipe for Chicken and Spinach Lasagne
ReplyDeletePerfect for a hungry family on a cold Winter's evening!
I would bake a 'tian provencal'. It is a layered, baked vegetable dish originating in Provence in the south of France. It's quite similar to a gratin except for the fact that it does not include bread crumbs or cheese. Baking it in a clear dish like these pyrex items would ensure that the beauty of the layers is enjoyed along with the taste.
ReplyDeleteSounds delicious. I must go and Google!
ReplyDeleteMy kids love spag bol and would happily eat if every night.
ReplyDeleteI would create chicken pasta bake, apple and rhubarb crumble and lots of cottage pies. I love the pyrex range and I love to cook with it. The plastic lids are brilliant and I would love to add to the two pieces I have in my cupboard at the moment.
ReplyDeleteIf I won the 14 piece pyrex bake and store set I would firstly make a lasagne, in my opinion the best meal to bake and store. Then I'd make a beef rendang, yum. Of course some sweets would have to be included, so I would opt for anzac bikkies for the kiddies and a caramel slice for hubby & I.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway! My 17 year old son wants to be a chef so I think we would make his favourite - lasagna and maybe one of my favourites - cheesy potato bake. Yummm! Not sure there would be leftovers to store though!
ReplyDeleteMy 6 year old wants to be a chef ... Or a food critic. Too much Masterchef influence I think.
DeleteLove cheesy potato bake!!
Awesome giveaway - everyone loves pyrex! I would bake lots of freezable meals like roasted vegetable lasagne, chicken and vege bake with a parmasen and macadamia crust or the kids favourite pasta bake!
ReplyDeleteme wants them!!! lol I see many lasagnes in my future, followed by apple crumble. Shephard's pie is on the list along with homemade museli bars and potato bake. not altogether of course. oh and cinnamon swirls, pyrex means I can rewarm them in the same dish.
ReplyDeleteAnything yummy I can bake in bulk, freeze & then take for lunches at work - stir-frys, casseroles, pasta dishes. The $2 can of soup is just not making the grade this winter!
ReplyDeleteLove that these can go in the freezer. My hubby works away so it will behandy to freeze meals to have when he is not hime
ReplyDeleteYes mine works away too, and yes sometimes it's easy to just make a little extra to freeze and then eat with the kids when the hubby is away.
DeleteGood Luck!
Love the idea of using less cling wrap. I would make lasagne or other pasta type dishes...anything that is even better when reheated!!
ReplyDeleteAll the hearty, delicious meals I currently cook, that stick to your insides, warming from the inside out. Only now I'll have the best containers to store the copious amounts I cook! For the life of me, I can not cook 'just enough' or a small portion, being raised European it's inbuilt to cook up a storm!!
ReplyDeleteI would have to have some Cauliflower Cheese. The kids always expect to find it in the fridge when they visit. Then I'd make all sorts of dishes that could be easily reheated. That would leave more time for sewing ;)
ReplyDeleteI would bake a steaming hot lasagne oozing with mince, bechamel sauce and cheese, and baked to a golden goodness!
ReplyDeleteOHh... I would make and store lots of Chillies, gumbos, and lasagnas!!! This would be a blessing from God!
ReplyDeleteIt would have to be a Apple Crumble. With some Custard to go with it.
ReplyDeleteMouthwatering Lasagne; macaroni cheese, self-saucing puddings...The list is endless...
ReplyDeleteRecall my Mum telling me over & over as a child that nothing compared to Pyrex. Must say I agree wholeheartedly.
This beautiful set would inspire me to be better at planning and preparing ahead of time. My picks would be vegetable lasagne; baked salmon; roasted vegetables to serve with any meat or fish; and some soups like minestrone and carrot and lentil soup.
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the Once a Month Mom series? May not be called that, but I'd love to cook up a ton of food once a month so most of our meals are sorted. This hot set would make me better at this fo sho.
ReplyDeleteI'd have HOT TUNA in HUMBLE PIE. MEATLOAF with SMASHING PUMPKINS, sprinkled with SALT N PEPA and a touch of RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS
ReplyDelete~C~HICKEN CURRIES: can’t go past,
ReplyDelete~U~ncomplicated PUDDINGS when harassed.
~R~ight for winter too. FAST!
~R~avenous teenage boys: leftovers don’t last…
~Y~ES! Roast vegies too!… UNSURPASSED!!!
Pyrex is fabulous cookware and the red lids would brighten a kitchen. I'd make a delicious lasagna, creamy macoroni and cheese, golden sweet potato pie, vegetable and cheese bake, plus heaps more. Being busy as a volunteer and a mature-aged student I like to prepare meals in advance and in larger quantities. Leftovers make great lunches.
ReplyDeleteApple and pear pie would be our first choice,
ReplyDeletevegetable and egg pizza would be next choice,
fried rice and garlic prawns come next.
cakes, muffins and bread pudding will be the best.

Lots of yummy casseroles and old fashioned homemade desserts for my family to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI would make lots of casseroles and most of all my special creamed potatoes ,which all my family just love. They are so yummy I love them as well .
ReplyDeleteCurrently teaching my disabled little brother to cook and to eat more. I would bake alot of things to for him to try like lasagne, soup and roasts oh and cookies.
ReplyDeleteMine would be simple -
ReplyDeleteI'd bake a huge lot of lasagna, and thanks to my new Pyrex, I'd bake, serve and store it all in the same dish.
Hooray!
Soups and casseroles
ReplyDeletepies and goulash
anything i can use as a freezer stash
pasta bakes and puddings
i'll give anything a bash!
