The other week, I was in Melbourne for the KidsBusiness Bloggers Brunch. It was a fabulous event and I learned a lot and look forward to sharing more with you soon.
One of the brands, with a display at the event, was Avon.
Yes, Avon.
It was like reuniting with an old friend. I remember the olden days (well not that olden – but at least 20 years ago), when one of the girls at school would bring in her mothers Avon catalogue.
We would sit at recess and lunchtimes, perusing the catalogue. Making lists of what we’d like to buy. Rubbing our wrists on the scent samples…
Oh, I may have forgotten to mention why it was so exciting for my friends and I to go through Avon catalogues… we went to an all-girl Catholic school, where makeup and hair products were ABSOLUTELY forbidden. We could dream though, right?
Avon was a very popular stand at the Bloggers Brunch. They were offering makeup sessions - who doesn’t love a bit of make up? My name was on the wait list, but unfortunately I didn’t get a turn before the event finished. I did however receive a goody bag so I got to play with some products at home.
Thinking about it, I probably haven’t seen an Avon catalogue for about 15 years. Well this changed. My goody bag included their latest catalogue (yes I have flicked through many, many times and have made a list). I’ve just discovered that you can find the Avon catalogue, online.
My hair is wavy / curly. After having watched the ads for the “In-Styler” on telly, I went out and bought one from Target last week. Have you seen the ad? My hair is usually just tied up and boring, but the ad inspired me to try it.
So I bought the “In-Styler” and used some of the Moroccan Argan Oil from Avon. Love the result!
It’s a bit of a shonky photo, but you get the idea.
I have rediscovered Avon and wondered if you had been acquainted with them recently?
Avon have a fabulous competition running at the moment – it is for the bloggers who attended the event PLUS their readers. Would you like to be in the running to win $1000 worth of Avon makeup?
Pop on over and visit www.beautynews.avon.com.au/WIN. I’ve entered and if I don’t win, I would love it if one of you, won the prize.
And, here is Amelia, after having her hair straightened too.
My girl love a bit of preening.
I have always loved AVON, so much so that 3 months ago, I started selling it. I am my very best customer!! AVON has a world wide presence and is a strong supporter of women's issues such as domestic violence and breast cancer. I live in South Carolina but it's lovely to see other parts of the world who support this great company!! Be especially blessed, Kathy
