We’re celebrating Christmas in July over at ASWC, this week.

In keeping with the Christmas spirit, I’ve made this festive Christmas Snowball Table Topper using the Snowball block from The Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt book.

It’s such a fun block – and super easy!


Make 4 HST’s with the 2 x 3 7/8” print and 2 x 3 7/8” white squares.

Draw a pencil line across the diagonal. Stitch 1/4” on either side of the drawn line and then cut on the line.



Open and press the HST’s. Trim to 3” square blocks.



Arrange the pieces as per the photo below. Pictures are great aren’t they? They remove the need for a lot of words.



Sew the 3 x 3 blocks into rows. Press the top and bottom rows to the left and the centre row to the right.

Sew the rows together.

Now make four of these Snowball Blocks.

Sew all 4 Snowball Blocks together in a 2 x 2 formation.

Add a 3” sashing all around.



Quilt and bind. I quilted mine in straight lines which made it a super fast finish.
And here you have the Snowball Christmas Table Topper, which can be finished in a couple of hours.
