Mothers day has come and gone, but as I hadn’t seen my mother in law (MIL) since before Mothers Day, she received her pressie this weekend.
It’s a mini wall quilt I stitched up for her. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t hoping for a little tear or 2 when I gave it to her.
I found this lovely poem online a few months ago, and thought it would work well as a stitchery. I typed it up in a word document and chose a font which would translate well into a stitchery. I increased the font size and printed it up.
These fabrics and colours are really not my usual style, but I know that Sue likes this look and it matches her furniture well. It is bordered in an older range of fabric which I received in a travelling swap. It is a mini charm pack of Garden Party by Blackbird Designs.
Now… her birthday is coming up in August… what will I make?
That's a lovely poem and the perfect gift.
ReplyDeletePerfect!!! I bet she was absolutely thrilled:)
ReplyDeleteI bet she loved it. I think that's a lovely poem. I'd love to use it on something for my mother-in-law if you don't mind!

ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely poem - may I use it next year please?
ReplyDeleteOfcourse!!
DeleteAs the mother of three grown sons I must say that poem made me get a little teary eyed. What size is this mini?
ReplyDeleteI’m pleased with tears (is that bad?)
DeleteIt’s approximately 12” wide by 18” long.
What a beautiful gift and the poem is very pretty. I think I will make a pillow to be put on the bed.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing.
