Happy mail days involve parcels. Parcels filled with crafty supplies (usually fabric or craft books) or surprises.
I participated in DQS12 this round. For those who don’t know what I’m talking about, DQS12 = Doll Quilt Swap (round 12).
No we don’t have little dolls that we cover in quilts (although, you could if you wanted to).
We make doll sized quilts – mini quilts – which we usually hang in our sewing rooms. And then we swap them. With a partner, somewhere around the world.
The rules for DQS12 were to make the mini quilt (any size between 9"x9" to 20"x20”) using the following blocks:
1.churn dash/shoofly
2.log cabin
3.drunkards path
4. N.Y. beauty
5.flying geese
… also was required to include a solid of our choosing, in any colour OTHER THAN WHITE (or variations of white such as cream, off white).
This was a fun challenge and Flickr was buzzing with ideas and inspiration mosaics and collages.
I received my parcel of crafty package last week and I’m so pleased!
My partner was Katherine of Honeyhill Designs who stalked me very well and made a mini quilt which is just perfectly me!
Look at all of those bright happy colours, fabrics and Kaffe prints.
Love the lime green back with Kaffe selvages.
And the hand quilting - you know how I’m crazy about hand quilting!
Plus, Katherine sent some extra goodies in the parcel. I love surprises!!
Some more beautiful Kaffe Fassett fabrics, a cute little cupcake notebook and this little piggy tape measure (which Amelia has already claimed).
Thank you so very much Katherine. I love, love, love everything!
