Are you ready for a visual feast? Yes, I am blowing my own trumpet, but I love how this block has turned out.
The colours are soooo vibrant and make me smile.
This is my March block for the QCA #2 Bee. This month, the “Stripping the Dresden” blocks are for Jane of Want it! Need it! Quilt!
Jane has written THIS tutorial to make the stripped Dresden plate and you can also find the foundation paper pattern on her blog post.
A word of warning, once you start, you can’t stop! It’s highly addictive.
I started with these:
Added a few more blades…
And then ended up with this Dresden Plate
Fun, isn’t it? Pop on over to Jane’s blog and have a look at the tutorial. I can guarantee that once you start, you won’t be able to stop.

This is completely amazing! Just the thing for all my Kona cotton scraps!
ReplyDeleteI love what you have done with this block. The colors are wonderful. Now I'm going to save all my Kona scraps and give this a try. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYour dresden is absolutely stunning! Love the way you used solids.
ReplyDeleteThat is absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThis is really effective. It looks like it is spinning because of the alternating stripes.
ReplyDeleteWell done, I am sure she will love it.
