Are your hot pads looking old, tired and a little bit burnt and crispy around the edges?
Mine have been in desperate need of replacement for a while, but I only ever think of it when I use them.
Well I used them last night when taking my quiche out of the oven. So ugly and old. The hot pads - not the quiche.
So after dropping my little man off at school, I came home on a mission. I delved into my scrap tub and made a new hot pad with a double layer of batting. Well I made 2 actually, but the other one needs the binding attached to be finished.

I even straight line quilted it. It's soooooooo not my usual style, but I have to say, it was fun.
So back to my previous question, how are your hot pads? Do they need replacing?
Mine wore out ages ago and so I've been using a folded tea towel which isn't really satisfactory. Your hot pad has inspired me, I think I'll make some too.
