Christmas is only 6 months away. Can you believe it? Time is certainly flying along at a rapid rate and it won’t be long before the Christmas rush takes over and we (or is it only me?) struggle to try and fit everything in.
I love handmade projects around my home – especially at Christmas – and rather than wait until November, now is the time to start sewing for Christmas. Have you made anything for Christmas 2015 yet?
The lovely people at the Fat Quarter Shop asked if I’d be interested in participating in the Joyful Jelly Roll Tree Skirt Blog Hop. As I love the FQS and I love Christmas, how could I resist?
I read through the pattern and got to work on the tree skirt. It’s a great pattern and very easy to follow along. Best of all, Kimberley has filmed a little video which is available on YouTube which will help in making this project as well as give you some hints and tips on working with bias.
This pattern is perfect for a jelly roll. I didn’t a festive one available, so I used some yardage from Postcards for Santa which is a new range by Riley Blake and some F8 pieces of Winterberry by Moda. I love how both of these lines work together.
The Fat Quarter Shop have quilt kits and backing sets available. The Joyful Jelly Roll Tree Skirt pattern is only $6.98 and available for purchase from FQS.
After quilting it all, I decided that this will make a lovely wall hanging. It’s a bright and fresh design and I have just the place to display it. Now if only Christmas wasn’t still 6 months away………
