Electrical Cord Wrap : Tutorial {Week 7/52}

Welcome to Week 7 of the 52 Week Scrap Project.

Today, I’m sharing a tutorial for an electrical cord wrap. These little wraps are so useful for items like your iron, hair dryer, straightener, phone or camera chargers… really, anything with an electrical cord can use one of these little lovelies.

Electrical Cord Wrap 1

You will need 4.25” x 6.25” of each of the following:
Outer fabric
Inside coordinating fabric
Fusible Interfacing
Fusible pellon or batting (non fusible is fine and a little bit of spray baste works too)
Sew-on velcro

Electrical Cord Wrap Tutorial

The first step is to fuse the interfacing to the outer fabric and the pellon to the inside fabric. This little wrap will be reversible, so choose 2 fabrics you like.

Once the fusing is complete, place the 2 fabric squares facing eachother and sew around the whole rectangle, leaving a gap large enough to turn it out.

Clip the corners.

Turn out the wrap and top stitch all the way around approximately 1/8” from the edge.

Sew on some velcro squares - just like the image below.

Electrical Cord Wrap 4

And there you have a reversible electrical cord wrap… within about 10 minutes.
These little wraps are so quick to make, you could have a few cut up and ready to put together.
