It has taken quite a few weeks of hand quilting in the evenings. I did put it down for a little while to work on my Christmas in July swap items, but then came back to the circle quilt.
I decided that FNWF was the perfect reason to finish the last couple of circles and add the binding.
And isn't this binding fabric just perfectly matched to the quilting cotton?
It wasn't intentional. I had given no thought as to which fabric I would use for the binding - until I took this little quilt over to my stash and held it up near the fabrics.
What have I learnt by making this quilt? Well, I discovered that I love appliqué. Really love it. Making teeny little invisible stitches is really enjoyable.
I think circles make a cute quilt. It would certainly make a fun baby quilt for a friend who is currently expecting.
I will make one for her new bub, but I think I might just stick with machine appliqué and machine quilting. It will be a much faster finish.
Thanks to Cheryll for hosting FNWF. I'm actually heading up to your neck of the woods this weekend Cheryll. We're having a little family weekend away, at the Lake - maybe even visit a market or two :)
So vibrant!
