My new quilt has been washed and is now tumbling around in the dryer, getting all lovely and crinkly and soft. I love my new quilt. Did I say love? I meant, LOVE!
The best part of all... it's all MINE!!!
It is a quilt which has been made by my fellow quilters and put together by me. My block request summary was for any style of block, in black, white, red, grey and yellow.
These are all of the swap blocks I've received from my friends all around the world. Local Australian quilters and quilters as far away as Portugal, Canada and England.
So what do you think? Do you see your block?
I had a charcoal coloured doona cover sitting in the back of my linen cupboard, which had only been used a few times. I decided to cut it up and use it for the backing. I really love how it works with the colours of the quilt top.
I used a zig-zag fabric for the binding. I spent yesterday afternoon hand stitching the binding onto the quilt back. Hand stitching the binding, can be very therapeutic.
So here is my new quilt, ready for some serious snuggling on the couch this evening.
Happy Day!!
